NEW Regulations Regarding Hunting and Subsistence Gathering on Maserculiq Incorporated Lands (Effective 10/22/2025)
Part 4, Section E. Hunting and Subsistence Gathering Rules & Regulations (effective 10/22/2025):
Commercial hunting and/or guided hunting for moose, bear, or any other game or game birds is strictly forbidden and shall not be permitted on corporate lands. Maserculiq will make every effort to bring civil or criminal actions against anyone found to be in violation of this policy.
Maserculiq Incorporated shall strongly advocate for and assist whenever possible in the enforcement of fish and game laws and regulations of the State of Alaska and of the United States.
Hunters on Maserculiq Incorporated lands must adhere to the State of Alaska hunting and fishing rules and regulations and must be licensed by the State of Alaska.
All of the lands belonging to Maserculiq Incorporated are private lands and hunting or subsistence gathering upon those lands without the express consent of the corporation will be treated as trespassing with the following exceptions:
- Any shareholder of Maserculiq Incorporated shall be allowed to hunt and/or subsistence gather upon the lands owned by the corporation;
- Immediate family members of Maserculiq Incorporated shareholders (i.e., husband, wife, parents, brothers, sisters and children) shall be allowed to hunt and/or subsistence gather upon the lands owned by the corporation;
- Residents of Marshall, Alaska, who are not Maserculiq Incorporated shareholders, but who are established full time residents and who qualify for and possess an Alaska resident hunting or fishing license, may subsistence hunt and/or gather for their own households.[1] [2]
The taking of game for the sole purpose of trophy hunting is absolutely prohibited and may result in being permanently banned from entering on Maserculiq Incorporated land. Any waste of game or natural resources will result in same.
At the present time Maserculiq Incorporated will not institute any type of permit option for hunting by anyone other than those set out in Paragraph (X) above.
The issuance of actual permits for hunting and land use (non-hunting) will be instituted at a future date, but will not be required for the 2025-2026 season.
The stewardship of the natural resources on Maserculiq Incorporated lands for its shareholders and their families will be the goal of these rules and regulations.
[1] Alaska residence requirements for a hunting/fishing license: “…a person must have maintained a domicile (home) in the state for at least 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the application and must intend to remain indefinitely. The applicant must also not claim residency or receive benefits as a resident from another state, territory, or country during this time. Members (and dependents) of the military stationed in Alaska for 12 months also qualify for resident status.
[2] The sharing of game and natural resources with elders and other village residents is encouraged.
