I am writing this note to announce my retirement as Chief Executive Officer for Maserculiq, Incorporated as of December 31, 2022. I am feeling some very mixed emotions in making that announcement.
I have worked as CEO for the Corporation since early 2010, very nearly 13 years. During that time I have had the opportunity to visit the village of Marshall many times, and I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with many of you.
I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish during my tenure. We have doubled the value of the corporation, and have done so despite nearly 3 years of the Covid pandemic. Many, many businesses simply closed their doors during this time. We were able to continue to grow.
We have purchased and fully paid for Wyoming Recovery. We continue to operate Wyoming Recovery, which is a very well respected drug and alcohol treatment facility in Casper, Wyoming. Wyoming Recovery is also a profitable business enterprise. We have expanded the bed space at this facility by about 25% during our ownership.
We also purchased two duplexes in Casper (a total of 4 units) which we use as rentals. These units are fully rented, and are profitable for Maserculiq. These units are paying for themselves, and are increasing in value.
While I am proud of what we have done, I also have to be realistic. I am now 77 years old, and can feel myself slowing down. I feel like I’ve been working a long time, and I’m tired. And I have some things that I still want to do for myself and my family.
The reality is that it is time for someone a bit younger to take the reins of the Corporation. That person is Marilyn Williams. I hired Ms. Williams as my Executive Assistant a bit over 2 years ago. Since then we have worked very closely together. In addition to helping me, she has devoted quite a bit of her time to improving operations (and profitability) at Wyoming Recovery.
The Board of Directors accepted my recommendation and hired Ms. Williams as Chief Executive Officer for Maserculiq, Incorporated effective January 1, 2023. I am confident that she will do a great job as your CEO and will continue to grow the assets of the Corporation.
I have agreed to remain available to provide any assistance that may be needed by Ms. Williams or by the board for the remainder of 2023.
